Backcountry print catalog and ecommerece journey
Highway 89 is a scenic road that winds through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the western United States. Spanning over 1,250 miles. The route is known for its stunning views through the national parks making it a popular destination for nature lovers, adventurers, and road trippers. Backcountry.com is an online retailer specializing in outdoor gear and apparel so when it came time to create a digital and print catalog to promote the new inhouse brands that the retialer offered. It only felt natual to reach out to our backyard and tell the story of Highway 89. Since Backcountry offers a wide selection of products for various outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, skiing, snowboarding, climbing, it felt natural to feature the retailers diverse assortment of products through a road trip. From print to digital the experience needed to feel seamless and as an art director we used all in-house resources to create the visuals on location and in studio with a small group of writers and photographers. We produced a print catalog and curated digital experience in a limited time frame. It took a massive effort from marketing, fulfillment, merchandising, creative teams and help from our brand sales representatives to pull off this project.
