Skullcandy bold ecommerce product journey
Skullcandy has established itself as a leading brand in the audio industry, known for its distinctive style, affordable prices, and unique product drops. Product launches are key to keeping your brand fresh and relevant. My role in these custom product launches at Skullcandy were to drive sales through strategic product drops every month on Skullcandy.com by creating a 6 page immersive experience called 12 moods. This campaign featured 6 athletes and 6 musicians with 2 custom products featuring a bold color and a mood to go with the month. Skullcandy had a large brand awareness and was accessible through large global retailers that carried our large volume sku colors but rarely was there an opportunity for peg space for limited edition skus and collaborations. With a backend migration complete on Skullcandy.com we built an infrastructure to allow us flexibility to bundle skus and customize products. These products featured limited edition packaging, a behind the scenes video with the featured artist and beautiful product imagery. The goal of this campaign was to grow our social media reach for retargeting. My role in this project was a wide range of creative execution including creating the UX experience across site, photo editing, color treating images and creating the site experience including homepage update, and product detail page, email marketing and paid advertising and even being a hand model for this month. The volume of work and execution required for these global launches was incredible and we did this all in house with a team of 10 creatives specializing in video, photo and creative direction, set design, digital experience design, and of course product design.
